OVERVIEW
Minerals Industries Métallurgiques Sarl is a Congolese fusion company in the eastern province, which has been held almost exclusively by a Prime Minister of the Congo, with another small part of the company by a Congolese national
THE BRIEF
MIM intends to provide smelting services for the TIN and, in the future, for tantalite, including for CGM minerals supplied by the parent company.
So far, the company has produced and sold a small volume of tin ingots for testing, obtained from labeled minerals from Maniema. A service level agreement with a professional organization has come into effect for dosage, mineral processing services and metal refinery since this year.
THE CHALLENGE
MIM has provided a conflict minerals policy but does not yet have a due diligence management plan. MIM has examples of contracts with suppliers.
With its well-planned backlog, the JV project with Sakima is expanding the scale of production of a variety of rare earths and base metals.
ETHICAL SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT
MIM has two electrical refinement units and outsources a biomass fusion unit.
